Abstract
This report summarizes the mathematical models used to describe how contaminant concentrations are related to measured capture gamma-ray intensities. To solve these models for the unknown concentration profiles from measured data, it is shown that an ill-posed Fredholm integral equation must be inverted. Two main methods, each with several variants, are proposed for solving the integral equation. The theory behind each method and example results are presented.
